Leadership Training for Aspiring Young Leaders

On the request of the Department of Philosophy, the Career Guidance Unit of the University of Jaffna, in collaboration with Visions Global Empowerment, organized a Leadership Training for Aspiring Young Leaders. It was a transformative event that unfolded from September 15th, 2023, to September 17th, 2023, from 8:30 am to 1:30 pm. This course was meticulously designed to empower the next generation of leaders, equipping them with essential leadership skills while nurturing personal and professional growth.

There were 35 Philosophy students and 10 Psychology students who participated in the Leadership Training for Aspiring Young Leaders. The success of this training was made possible through the dedicated efforts of a team of resource persons led by Mr. Antony Jeevarathinam Mayuran. This team played a pivotal role in delivering a comprehensive and insightful program.

Career Guidance Counselor Mr. K. Gowthaman and Philosophy Lecturers Mrs. T. Gorden, Mr. S. Nirosan, and Mr. T. Thileepan gave their fullest support for the success of this event.

The outcomes of the training are as follows:

  • Participants gained a deeper understanding of leadership principles and acquired practical skills to effectively lead and inspire others.
  • The training focused on personal growth, fostering self-awareness among participants, helping them recognize their strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement.
  • Through interactive sessions and group activities, participants honed their communication skills, including effective listening, articulation, and the ability to convey ideas with clarity.
  • The program emphasized the importance of teamwork and collaboration. Participants engaged in team-building exercises to develop a sense of unity and cooperation.
