Students Participated in Residential Mental Health Training Programme

Selected Psychology students of the Department of Philosophy, University of Jaffna, participated in a two-day Residential Training Programme organized by Save a Life under the Mind Link Project in collaboration with the Career Guidance Unit, University of Jaffna. The programme was supported by the Government of Australia through the Direct Aid Program (DAP) and was held at Reecha, Kilinochchi from 15th to 17th May 2026.

The training programme focused on Mental Health Awareness, Trauma Identification, Trauma Management, and Psychological First Aid. The sessions were designed to equip students with practical knowledge and first-response skills to support mental health and psychosocial well-being within schools and communities.

Participants actively engaged in interactive sessions related to emotional support, awareness creation, early identification of mental health concerns, and responsible referral practices. The programme provided valuable exposure for students to strengthen their community engagement and professional development in the field of Psychology.
